Beach day

John, Gillian and I spent the day at the beach with Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt Betty and Justin. When we arrived Gillian insisted on building a sandcastle. She also insisted on getting water to pour all over her castle. The boys had enough of her demands and ended up in the water. I then caught her smashing her castle.

The boys spent the entire morning in the water with very limited breaks.

Gillian dragged me to the water to hold her hand. She would get brave and drag me closer to the waves and then she would scream and run away. During one of her breaks, Aunt Betty read to her.

We ended up dragging the boys out of the water.

We did have a fabulous day at the beach.

Myrtle Beach

The kids spent the past week in Myrtle Beach with Mimi and Poppy. Mimi and Poppy have a house in Myrtle and they have taken John down there twice. This was Gillian's first trip. She was super excited to go and John was excited to show her all the fun things he loves to do in Myrtle.

They spent time swimming in the pool.

They had a picnic at the state park.

They went to Broadway on the beach and did the rides.

They also got to do this super cool trampoline thing.

No trip to the boardwalk is complete without ice cream!

They got donuts at Poppy's favorite place: Krispy Kreme!

They also got to go horseback riding! Gillian said "My horse was best friends with John's horse. And you know what? Mimi's horse was called 'No Name.' That's silly."

Their last adventure was the Pirates Voyage. The kids got those faces painted and they watched an awesome pirate show and rooted for the red pirates to win!

The kids had an awesome trip! Thanks Mimi and Poppy!

John's camp 2015

John has spent the past two summers at Briar Hill Camp in Freehold.  I'm so glad that I found this place.  This camp has all activities on the property, so I don't have to worry about traveling for trips.  They have instructional swim in the morning and free swim in the afternoon, plus they get to use the spray ground during the day too.  They bring in inflatables, rides, special shows and events all summer long.  Plus the big kids get to choose a weekly elective  Briar Hill also has a photographer on staff, so the parents get to see some of the fun things they do all week long.  Here are some of the photos of John from this summer.
