The kids are loving summertime desserts. Most nights we are barely done with dinner and John is asking about dessert. The past couple of days their dessert has been ice cream cones. Ice cream is always a big hit. Last night was cookies. John asked me "what's for dessert?" while he was eating the cookies. I said cookies. He replied "cookies are a treat, not dessert!"
Tonight John decided he wanted a Klondike Bar. Gillian and I shared a bar while John had his own. John did very well for awhile until the ice cream started to melt. We put it in a bowl so he would have an easier time eating it. Immediately he picked up a huge piece of chocolate on his spoon. "I'm going to eat the chocolate first!" I love the way he thinks. After dessert I sang "what would you do for a Klondike bar?" Gillian didn't hesitate and said "bock bock bock!!"
